Department of Hotel Management, UIM, Uttaranchal University has started an interactive weekly 4 hour bartending session named “Budding Bartenders” for the students of BHM 5th & 7th Semester for imparting the knowledge about bartending along with classic and contemporary cocktails & mocktails. These session’s are specially designed for the students who are cocktail novice and comprises of cocktail & mocktails making classes under the guidance of experienced & trained teachers.

The session was inaugurated by Mr. Manish Badoni HOD Department of Hotel Management, UIM where he discussed the importance of practical sessions motivated students to participate in these types of sessions. The first session was conducted in Department of hotel management, UIM, at the Training restaurant on 3rd September 2021. In the beginning of the session students are talked through the basics of cocktail & mocktails, tools of the bartender, pouring skills, history of cocktails, how to be an efficient bartender and detailed information on spirits by Mr. Surendra Singh Bhakuni.

Then students were given an opportunity to make few classic cocktail & mocktails and make drinks using their own creations. Students prepared Whiskey Sour, Daiquiri & Cosmopolitan in Cocktails and Virgin Pina Colada, Shirley temple & Cucumber Gimlet were prepared in the Mocktails Category.
