The programs under SOA are designed to provide students with the technical knowledge in crop raising, livestock raising, agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, integrated pest management, seed conditioning & technology, breeding, tissue culture & biotechnology along with other areas related to production & quality control in food and fibre industry. It also teaches students about managing a farm or agribusiness.
Through the years SOA has continuously responded to the needs of the society and pursues excellence in teaching, research and community services by working in close collaboration with institutions in the country and most importantly with its stakeholders in order to remain responsive to the ever-changing needs of the society. School of Agriculture is devoted to all-round growth of its students; hence student centric clubs and societies are structured. Initially SOA was the part of UIT and since 2016 it became an independent entity and is continuously nurturing its students by lending them expertise in the field of agriculture. The objective of SOA research programme is to create scientists, so the agriculture sector in India can reach its highest limit.
Placement is a vital part of any Higher Educational Institution. SOA considers it as its responsibility to ensure placement to all the students. Towards the same responsibility is given to all the coordinators and mentors to counsel the students. One of the priority duties is to check time-to-time vacancies in agriculture sector and timely inform the students so that they can apply for their desired posts.
We believe that in today’s scenario over-all growth is a must for the students. The students are required to mould themselves as per the market/industry requirement. To ensure the same sessions of personality development and communication skills are scheduled. Guest Lectures, Seminars and Workshops are a recurrent feature.
As the Dean of School of Agriculture, I extent my best wishes to you all and congratulate you for joining SOA.
Prof. (Dr.) Mahipal Singh
