MAJMC with specialization in Digital Journalism/TV Production & Film Making/Advertising & Public Relations/ Development Communication in School of Media and Communication Studies aims to provide quality media education with focus on producing skilled and industry oriented human resource and encourage media entrepreneurship in the field of Mass Communication. It has a specialized course curriculum which incorporates varied aspects of Journalism & Mass Communication. The program has a research-oriented curriculum which aims to explore the potential of research in different dimensions of Journalism & Mass Communication.

A student with MA in Journalism & Mass Communication can aspire for varied avenues in the field of Journalism (Print, Electronic & Digital), Event Management, Media Entrepreneurship and the like. One can opt for the job profile of Public Relations Specialist, Video Producer, Blogger/Vlogger, Content Strategist, Social Media Specialist, Film & Video Editor, Camera Operator, Anchor, Reporter & Correspondent, Marketing/ Brand Professional, Radio Jockey/Announcers, Script Writer, Copy Writer, Art Director, Media Academician, Communication Officer, Market Researcher,Writer/ Author and the like.

Admission Procedure:
  • Admission is based on merit computed on the basis of marks secured in qualifying examination. University also conducts interviews of all applicants before admitting the eligible candidates.
  • Out of the total intake, 40% seats are allotted to students of Uttarakhand under the State Quota and the rest are open to students from All India. In case the allotted percentage of seats of State Quota remains vacant, it will be filled by All India students.
