Department of Food Technology organized a two-day National Workshop on “Research Practices and Design for Professionals” on 8th & 9th February, 2019. The Workshop was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi, Guest Speaker Dr. Rajeev Tiwari, Dr. Shuchi Upadhyay, Dr. V.K. Srivastava, Dr. B.S. Rawat, Dr. Bharti Ramola and Dr. Poonam Negi by lighting the auspicious lamp.
Dr. Shuchi Upadhyay, Head – Department of Food Technology, in her Welcome Address, explained the aim of the Workshop which was to explain the techniques and designs of different Research Tools and Software which can be applied in Life Sciences by all the students.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K Joshi, in his speech, motivated the students to participate in such workshops which help them to enhance their knowledge in related fields. He also congratulated all the faculty members and students for the conduction of the Workshop.
The Guest Speaker on the first day of the Workshop was Dr. Rajeev Tiwari (Associate Professor, School of Computer Science, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies). Dr. Tiwari has more than 13 years of teaching & research experience and is has a proficiency in Cloud Designing. He delivered his expert talk on Cloud Computing. He explained the technique, application and future prospects of Cloud Computing in Food Technology and other disciplines.
The Guest Speaker for second day was Mr. Pankaj Badoni from School of Computer Science, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies. The Workshop began with a talk on ‘Food Additives and their Effect’ by Ms. Bindu Naik, who explained about the benefits of food additives in food processing. Er. Mahipal Singh Tomar delivered the next talk on “Design Expert and their Techniques’. Mr. Pankaj Badoni delivered his talk on MATLAB in Research. He briefed about programming and use of MATLAB in Research.
Vote of Thanks was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal – UCALS. In his speech he congratulated all the faculty members and students who made the Workshop a grand success. He motivated all the students to participants in such events to improve their knowledge.
The two-day Workshop concluded with a Felicitation Ceremony for the Guest Speakers of both the days and Prize Distribution Ceremony for students who had won prizes in various activities conducted by Food Tech Club.
Students from Departments of Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics were present during the Workshop. Faculty of various departments of UCALS were present namely, Dr. V.K.Srivastava, Dr. B.S.Rawat, Dr. Bharti Ramola, Dr. Poonam Negi, Dr. Nishesh Sharma, Dr. Indra Rautela and Dr. Archana.
The Workshop was organized by Dr. Shuchi Upadhyay (Head – Department of Food Technology), Faculty Members of Department of Food Technology, namely, Er. Prateek Gururani, Dr. Bindu Naik, Er. Mahipal Singh Tomar & Ms. Nitika Rathi and Student Volunteers. Around 225 students were benefitted by this Workshop.
