Food Tech Club of Uttaranchal University celebrated ‘World Health Day’ on 7th April, 2021. The program was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Devender Pathak, Dean-Sciences Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Dr. Nishesh Sharma Dr. Sukriti Singh and Mr Rajeev Kumar by lightning the auspicious lamp. World Health Day is celebrated by WHO every year on 7th April. The celebration of World Health Day aims to create awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern. The theme for World Health Day 2021 was ‘Building a Fairer, Healthier world’. The events organized included Recipe Contest, Poster Presentation and Nutrition Fare. Around 50 students participated actively in the events. The evaluation committee for the event was led by Dr. Poonam Negi, Dr. Nishesh Sharma, Dr. V.K. Srivastava and Dr. Bharti Ramola.
The enthusiastic students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology, M.Sc. Food Technology and M.Sc. Food Nutrition and Dietetics showcased their creativity by setting up food stalls with various value added products, prepared posters and explained their creations to the judges. The event was organized and coordinated by Miss Arshi Siddiqui and Mr Rajat Singh. Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Mr. Kamran Chaudhary, Mr. Yogesh Kr Awasthi and Mr. Junaid Aman helped in making the event a huge success. The event concluded with Prize Distribution by Dean – Sciences Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh and Dr. Sukriti Singh.

Second Position : Rashi, Simran, Nishtha
Third Position : Shivani, Vashnavi
Best Poster Award was bagged by Ayushi Bhaduri.
The cumulative efforts made the event a grand success.
