An Induction Programme was organized by Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Uttaranchal University on 1st September,2021 to welcome the first-year B.Pharm and D.Pharm students.

Mrs. Pallavi Ghildiyal, Assistant Professor, UIPS welcomed the Chief Guest of the ceremony, Hon’ble Chancellor of Uttaranchal University, Shri Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Dean – UIT, Prof (Dr.) S.D. Pandey, Dean-UIPS, Prof (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, HOD-UIPS, Dr. Amit Semwal Sir and Examination Controller-UIPS, Dr. Tarun Parashar.

The programme inauguration started with the felicitation of the Chief Guest and lamp lightening ceremony and university kulgeet.

Honourable Chancellor, Shri Jitender Joshi, welcomed and addressed the students; encouraged the students to utilise the opportunity through the university resources to develop skills in both theoretical and practical aspect. Vice Chancellor, Prof.(Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, stressed upon the importance of time management and setting goals to gain desired success in life.

Dean -UIPS, Prof.(Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola , welcomed the students by his motivational lecture emphasizing the importance and role of pharmacist in the society. He concluded that the role of pharmacist in present scenario of COVID-19 pandemic in India as well as worldwide.

Thereafter, HOD- UIPS, Dr. Amit Semwal, delivered an overview of the curriculum and introduced the new students to the faculty fraternity of UIPS. He also aware the students about the maintenance of attendance criteria i.e. 80% & 75 % for B.Pharm and D.Pharm respectively.

Dr. Tarun Parashar, Associate professor UIPS, informed the students about the examination & assessment criteria as per ordinance and CGPA system. He also concluded that examination is the mirror of student progress in academics as well as in overall development of an institute.

On this occasion class coordinator of D.Pharm and B.Pharm including Mrs. Taru Saklani, Miss. Mahamedha Deorari, Miss. Manshi Butola, Mrs. Nidhi Gairola, Mr. Ankur and Mr. Ravi Kumar were present there.

The induction programme of seven days from 1 September to 7 September, 2021 contain bridge course, industrial visit to UCOST and CAP, extracurricular activities like quiz, debate, poster making competition, poetry competition etc. with a purpose to help students acclimatize with the new surroundings, develop bond with fellow students and teachers.

The programme concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Head of the department of UIPS Dr. Amit Semwal.
