NSS Unit of Uttaranchal University, Dehradun is organizing a Special Camp in Baniawala, Dehradun from 12th March, 2019 to 18th March, 2019. The Camp is being organized with the help of the Municipal Corporation of Baniawala, Dehradun and under the supervision of Dr. V. K. Srivastava, Coordinator – NSS, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun. The main objective of the camp is to spread awareness regarding social responsibilities among the villagers. The volunteers of the NSS Unit have planned to perform varied activities to create awareness regarding key aspects like literacy, tree plantation, cleanliness, health & hygiene, legal awareness, right to education, environmental issues, morals & ethics, women empowerment and harmony.
The activities scheduled to be conducted in the 7-day camp includes Cleanliness Drive, School Visit, Tree Plantation, Door-to-door Legal Awareness Camp, Quiz Competition in a school and Closing Ceremony.
The day began in the Panchayat Hall of the Zonal Office, Municipal Corporation of Arcadia Grant, Baniawala, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The Inauguration Ceremony commenced with the ‘Lighting of the Lamp’ by Dr. V. K. Srivastava and Mr. Kamal Rawat, Clerk-Municipal Corporation of Baniawala, Dehradun, followed by the recital of the NSS Song. The event progressed with the speech delivered by Mr. Kamal Singh Rawat. All the volunteers present in the Hall took the oath to ensure a successful 7 day camp followed by a speech delivered by Dr. V.K. Srivastava who briefly described all the activities to be done in the 7 day camp.
