The Women Cell of Uttaranchal College of Applied & Life Sciences, under the aegis of the committee for “Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students”, Uttaranchal University organised a Nukkad Natak on ‘Gender Sensitization’. This Nukkad Natak was performed by the students of SALS on 6th December, 2017. The main objective was to create awareness amongst the students about this sensitive issue.
Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K.Joshi, Director-Student Affairs and IT Services Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Registrar Mr. Ajai Singh, Director-UIT Dr. B. Lonia, , Principal-SALS Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Head- Department of Mechanical Engg. Mr. S.K. Joshi, Head- Department of Mathematics Dr. V.K. Srivastava, Head- Department of Physics Dr. B.S. Rawat, Dr. Shriya Goyal, Dr. Poonam Negi, Faculty Members of SALS and a large number of students of the University were present on the occasion.
By the performance through Nukkad Natak, the Women Cell of SALS, Uttaranchal University, tried to motivate the students to make the campus of Uttaranchal University a safe haven for the girl students where they are treated equally without any discrimination.
Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Jitender Joshi appreciated the efforts made by the students and awarded them with cash prize. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K.Joshi, Director-Student Affairs and IT Services Dr. Abhishek Joshi and Registrar Mr. Ajai Singh appreciated the issues raised by the students.
The Members of the Women Cell expressed their gratitude towards Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal-SALS for his motivation and support.
‘Nukkad Natak’ was organized by Dr. Bharti Ramola, Chairperson- Committee for “Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students”, Uttaranchal University.
The Nukkad Natak was coordinated by Ritika and Nishchay Thakur of B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology, whose performance was highly appreciated by the audience. Kashish, Ankur, Vaishnavi, Shantanu, Sangeeta, Saraswati, Amogh and Ayush also contributed in making the event a grand success.
