Orientation programme for the new students of Engineering and Applied Sciences was held at Uttaranchal Institute of Technology on 22nd August 2016 and the new entrants were welcomed by various dignitaries.
The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S.C.Joshi, Director SA & IT) Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Director HR & CR Ms. Ankita Joshi and Director/Dean UIT Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi. Students from UIT presented ‘Saraswati Vandana’ in tribute of Goddess of knowledge.
Pragalbha Shukla (2nd year student) welcomed the dignitaries and the audience and initiated the proceedings. After the various dignitaries were greeted by UIT faculty with bouquets, Professor N.K. Joshi, Director, UIT addressed the gathering. Professor N.K. Joshi informed the students about the various facilities available in the institute for the students. He highlighted the accomplishments of the institute and stressed that getting admission into UIT is the starting point and not the end of the journey. He also informed the students about their academic schedule, the examination system, various clubs of the university and their activities and the skill enhancement courses being organized for them. He also introduced them to their HODs and Faculty members.
The presidential address by Mr Jitender Joshi, Hon’ble Chancellor of Uttaranchal University instilled a sense of confidence among new students. He welcomed the new entrants into UIT and said the objective of UIT is not only to impart education but to provide opportunities for character-building. He encouraged the new students to get familiar with the campus and utilize the college resources.
In his welcome address the Vice Chancellor explained that to grow into a successful professional an individual needs to have excellent communication skills, good leadership abilities, critical thinking, hard work, innovative ideas and self confidence. The Orientation programme ended with a vote of thanks to the organizers.
