Students of Law College Dehradun participate in National Seminar organized by State Women Commission, Uttarakhand

Students of Law College Dehradun, faculty of Uttaranchal University, along with Dr. Prabha Lama, Assistant Professor in English and Dr. Nivedita Thapliyal, Assistant Professor in Sociology participated in a two-day National Seminar organized by State Women Commission, Uttarakhand on 10-11 January, 2018 at the residence of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Dehradun. The theme of the seminar was “Position of Women after Independence”. The budding lawyers got an opportunity to interact with the top ranked women activists of the country including Head of the Women Commission of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Karnatakata and Uttarakhand. The occasion was graced by the presence of many dignitaries including Shri T.S. Rawat, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Ms. Rekha Arya, Hon’ble Minister of Women and Child Development, Uttarakhand, Shri Harish Rawat, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Ms. Sarojani Kaintura, Chairperson, Uttarakhand Women Commission, Ms. Radha Ratori, Principal Secretary, Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development, Uttarakhand.
