Teacher’s Day celebrated by the students of School of Applied and Life Sciences

5th September was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of School of Applied and Life Sciences. During the last hour of the day the entire SALS Block became alive with loud cheering of the students. They had planned a surprise party for their teachers!

The programme started with ribbon cutting by Principal-SALS Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh. This was followed by the lighting of lamp in front of the portrait of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan as Teacher’s Day is celebrated on his birth anniversary. He was a teacher, philosopher, author and politician.

Agrima, Ankit, Clifford and Aakrut delivered speeches in honor of the teachers and explained why it is the noblest profession of all. Poems were recited. Shantanu and Ripudaman enthralled the audience with their melodious duet song. The duet sung by Vaishnavi and Rosy was enjoyed by the audience and the soulful voice of Siddharth was appreciated by one and all.

Icing on the cake was a Punjabi dance performance by Radha. The students had made wonderful titles for all the faculty members. Finally the cake was cut which was relished by all the teachers.

In his speech Principal UCALS Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh appreciated the efforts of all the Student Coordinators and praised the performances of the students. On behalf of all the teachers he thanked each and every student.

The event was very well coordinated by the Student Coordinators namely, Shashank, Shantanu, Rinku, Upendra, Anurag, Ankit, Deepasha, Mehak, Soumya, Palak, Sumit, Aditi and Ripudaman.
