Law College Dehradun, Uttaranchal University, organized ‘Melange- A Fusion fresher party’ to welcome the freshers, on Saturday, 12 Sept. The entire campus was converted into a fusion of pretty colours. The students dressed in western and classical Indian outfits symbolized the fusion and synthesis of east and west. The Chief Guest at the occasion was Mrs. Anuradha Joshi, Vice-Chairperson University society.
The programme was inaugurated by the guests of honour by lighting the auspicious lamps.The program started with the ‘Devi Stuti’ sang byTejaswini in her melodious voice and an excellent classical dance recital by Prithaviraj Laha. This was followed by a high decibel entertainment program. The presentations in the programme were, group dances performed by Gitika, Pritha and company, followed by power-packed performances of the boys, led Tushar and Rashi. The silver stepper dance performed by Avani and group enthralled the audience while melodious songs of Kartik and group revived the memories of golden days of Indian music. Ambar and friends presented a rap song. Bhangra Dance presented by students dressed in traditional costume was the star attraction. The anchors of the programme displayed brilliant anchoring skills and kept the audience enthralled throughout. In the talent and personality hunt Chetanay and Pratima were selected as Mr. and Ms. Freshers respectively.
Principal of the college, Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna welcomed the students from across the country, who have chosen Law College Dehradun to pursue their higher studies in Law.
Speaking at this occasion the Chancellor Mr. Jitendra Joshi, applauded the young students for possessing indomitable spirit, infinite energy and dreams to touch the sky. He reiterated his commitment to provide a liberal atmosphere in the Universitry and create ample opportunities to the students to fulfill their dreams.
