Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Dehradun, Uttaranchal University under the banner of Pharmacology Club organized a free health checkup camp for adopted village Kotra Santoor, Dehradun on 18th of November 2021. The Camp was conceptualized and conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola (Dean, UIPs), and Camp was coordinated by Mrs. Pallavi Ghildiyal, Mrs. Nidhi Gairola and Dr. Ankit Sharma (Assistant Professor, UIPS) with Ms. Ritika Dixit and Mr. Ayush Dangwal as the student member of the Pharmacology Club. According to the Dean of UIPS Dr. Vikash Jakhmola Health is wealth and it must be protected. For the Camp Kotra Santoor Village School was chosen as a venue. Dr. Rishabh Joshi, MBBS and his renowned team attended the camp. The overall health conditions of all the Villagers was checked up by the team of doctors.
After checking up, the doctors even prescribed necessary medication, actions and precautions if needed to be taken. Beside health checkup, a Patient counseling and distribution of Medicine was also done by the Pharmacy Students of Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
In the camp 110 no of patient registered for the check up of chief complaints like Hypertension Diabetes, Common flu, etc for which they are provided with the appropriate medicine as prescribed by the team of doctors. Apart from this BMI, Blood sugar, Blood.Pressure. was also checked by the pharmacy students of the university and also provided with basic counseling on ailments and use of medicines.
The event ends up in the evening with vote of thanks by Gram Pradhaan of Kotra Santoor village Mrs. Anju Tomar on behalf of entire villagers. She expressed her vote of thanks towards Honorable Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi, Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof.( Dr.) Dharm Buddhi, Dean of UIPS Dr. Vikash Jakhmola, event coordinators Mrs. Pallavi Ghildiyal, Mrs. Nidhi Gairola and Dr. Ankit Sharma (Assistant Professor, UIPS) and Students of UIPS for the successful organization of event.
