In 2020, World Teachers’ Day is being celebrated with the theme “Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future”. This day has provided the occasion to celebrate the teaching profession worldwide and given opportunity to take stock of achievements and draw attention to the voices of teachers, who are at the heart of efforts to attain the global education target of leaving no one behind.
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly added to the challenges faced by already over-extended education systems throughout the world. It is no exaggeration to say that the world is at a crossroads and now more than ever, the teachers all over the world have redefined the learning which is done by continuing the learning process smoothly for students from all age groups and all geographical regions.
University Polytechnic, Uttaranchal University, took a step to salute the spirit of this noble profession and untiring efforts of the teachers by organizing an event on Monday, October 5, 2020 wherein all the students were called upon to share their overall learning experiences in the college and in a way they were also given an opportunity to express their gratitude towards their teachers.
Mr. Manish Ghalwan, a member of faculty, took this responsibility upon himself to coordinate this activity which in a way also gave the opportunity to the students to show and hone their presentation skills with confidence. Many students from the different branches of Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical diploma engineering participated in the event. The name of the students worth mentioning here are Ishika Dhanai from CE, Anshumali Karna, Deepak Kumar both from CSE, Varun Saini ME and Shashank Barthwal from EE final year. These students spoke in unequivocal terms how the faculty members on the one hand are adding every day to their knowledge and skills level raising thereby them to compete at all levels and on the other hand how the students are learning lessons of high moral behavior, generous and compassionate nature from their faculty members. Almost all the faculty members along with the Principal Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Shah found a mention in the words of students.
The Principal of the college in his brief addressed to the students thanked them for all their gracious words and also reiterated the fact that the success of the students as a professional and as a good human being is the true reward for all the teachers who are working laboriously to take the reputation of the college to the newer heights.
