Uttaranchal College of Applied and Life Sciences organizes a one day Seminar in observance of ‘National Mathematics Day’

Honouring the contributions made by Sri Srinivasa Ramanujan, India observes his Birth Anniversary as ‘National Mathematics Day’. Department of Mathematics, Uttaranchal College of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University organized a one day Seminar in memory of the great Mathematician on 22nd December, 2018. Dr. V.K. Srivastava (Head – Department of Mathematics) was the guiding force behind the event.

Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi and Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi inaugurated the event. The event began with the encouraging words of Mr. Atma Nand, Assistant Professor, Uttaranchal University, who delivered a brief review on the Life and Works of Ramanujan. Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor, Uttaranchal University delivered a Lecture on “History of Mathematics”. Dr.V.K. Srivastava, Head – Department of Mathematics, delivered a lecture on “Importance of Mathematics in Day to Day Life.

Students from all the constituent colleges of the Uttaranchal University actively participated in the event.

Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal-UCALS, along with other Faculty Members of the Department of Mathematics, namely, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dr. Mohit Kumar, Dr.Shalu Choudhary and Ms. Dipika Saxena were present during the event.
