An Industrial Tour was organized on 20th August, 2019 by the Department of Food Technology, SALS, for the students of M.Sc. (Food Technology), M.Sc. (Nutrition and Dietics) and B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology to Aanchal Dairy Dugdh Utpadak, Raipur Road, Dehradun. Industrial Visits are important for acquiring practical knowledge of professional courses.
The students witnessed collection, storage, processing and packaging section of milk. The students were able to understand the concept of pasteurization, processing and packaging. The students also gathered valuable information about the different aspects of cheese processing and preparation.
It was a great exposure for UG and PG students to become familiar with cheese making, milk processing and packaging. They learned about the role of a Dairy Plant in the economic growth of India.
The visit was conceptualized by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal – SALS. The Tour was organized under the guidance of Dr. Shuchi Upadhyay Head – Department of Food Technology. The Tour was conducted & co-ordinated by Er. Prateek Gururani and Er. Bindu Naik who also accompanied the students. Approximately 65 student of Food Technology Department visited the industry.
