A one-day Academic Tour to ‘Forest Research Institute’ was organized by School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University on 21st August, 2018. Dr. Bharti Ramola, Dr Poonam Negi and Dr. Amin Mir accompanied the students to Forest Research Institute (FRI). As a part of the Orientation Program about 50 students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry and M.Sc. (Chemistry & Industrial Chemistry) were taken to visit FRI Campus. Established as Imperial Forest Research Institute in 1906, FRI is now a World Heritage Site. It is one of the oldest institutions of its kind in the world. The main building boasts Greco-Roman and Colonial styles of architecture and is made purely of bricks. The students were delighted to see the massive structure having impressive architecture and a large variety of plants. They also visited the Museum of Forestry in the Main Building. The serene and lush green campus of FRI was a major stress buster for all the students.
