‘Food Tech Club’ under the Department of Food Technology, School of Applied and Life Sciences organized an ‘Essay Writing Competition’ on 4th September, 2018, as part of the ongoing observance of ‘National Nutrition Week’ (1-7thSeptember, 2018).
Around 25 students from all the constituent colleges of Uttaranchal University actively participated in the event. The students penned down their views on the topic “Food Processing and Nutrition”. The event aimed at inculcating awareness regarding food nutrition & food processing techniques, their inter-relationship and its role in food safety and security.Principal-SALS Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh commended the idea of organizing such events that aimed to develop literary skills and creative cum critical thinking skills of the students. He congratulated the Faculty Members who organized the event.
The jury of ‘Essay Writing Competition’ comprised of Dr. Shuchi Upadhyay, Dr. Richa Badola and Er. Deepika Kohli. The entire program was formally conducted under the supervision of Dr.Shuchi Upadhayay (Head – Department of Food Technology), Dr.Richa Badola and other Faculty Members of Department, namely, Er. Deepika Kohli, Mrs. Bindu Naik and Er. Mahipal Singh Tomar.
