Globe Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management under the aegis of Uttaranchal University conducted “Ek Kapda Daan”- a Donation Drive. The event marked the second phase of the earlier initiated Donation Drive and involved donation of clothes for the deprived members of our society.

This activity was executed on the special and devout occasion of Makar Sankranti on 13th January, 2018. This occasion was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Chancellor, Shri Jitender Joshi, Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Director – Student Affairs and IT Services, Shri Jagdish Joshi, Project Manager, Prof.(Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director – UIM, Prof. (Dr.) D.S.Choubey, Dean – Reasearch & Studies, Dr. SM Mariyam Fatima, Head of the Department – Management, Dr. Sonal Sharma, Head of the Department – IT, Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat, In-charge – Cultural & Academic Events among others. Hon’ble Chancellor, Shri Jitender Joshi and Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Director – Student Affairs and IT Services initiated the drive with their generous donation.

The activity was conceptualized and executed by the Head of Globe Club, Dr. Mamta Bansal (Assistant Professor – Environmental Science, UIM). To realise the objective of this activity, the faculty, staff and students of UIM donated whole-heartedly for the underprivileged people living near roadside. Students empathized with their harsh living conditions, especially in intolerant winters and understood the difference between donating clothes and simply throwing them away. They were also taught the significance of  human values by our esteemed faculty and were made aware of how such activities help save the environment through the adoption of 3 R’s Formula (Recycle, Reuse and Reduce). Most of our students contributed with all their might. Such deeds bolster the emotional health of the students and ignite among them feelings of compassion and altruism.
