The students of Uttaranchal Institute of Management of Uttaranchal University celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5th September, 2018.

Around 1200 students from UIM (Management and Computer Applications Department) actively organized the event to express their respect, warmth and love for their gurus. The corridors of UIM were all filled with students who enthusiastically welcomed Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Director-UIM), Dr. Sonal Sharma- (HOD- IT), and all the Faculty Members of UIM with loud echoing applaud.

The celebrations started with the cutting of the cake by Dr. Suri along with all the Faculty Members, followed by some interesting games organized for teachers by the students. They also made a few singing and dancing performances. The most enjoyable game was the Musical Chairs played by the teachers and Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat (Head – Cultural Activities, UIM) bagged the winner title with his tricky movements.

We celebrate Teacher’s Day throughout the country on 5th September. The day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – the second President of India. Besides being a great academic philosopher he was one of the most well known diplomat, scholar and above all a teacher. As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday is observed as Teacher’s Day.

Students also served refreshments to their gurus and extended their gratitude towards the Faculty Members for their graceful presence and making the program successful.

The event concluded with a Thank You Note delivered by Dr. Sonal Sharma on behalf of Director-UIM and all the Faculty Members wherein she expressed her appreciation of the endeavour of students in organizing such a memorable event.
