An online quiz competition “TECH-TONIC” was organized by the Codex Club, Department of Computer Application, Uttaranchal Institute of Management for the students of UIM. The competition was conducted specially for the newcomers with an aim to challenge and sharpen their theoretical and practical knowledge along with their technical skills which will help in more efficient work, boosting confidence and ultimately making a more efficient candidate for employment.
Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, (Director-UIM) encouraged the participants and boosted their morale.
The first round of the Quiz was held on 9th February, 2021, through Google Doc Form with 25 questions of the qualifying stage. The scoring pattern was +1 for every correct answer and no negative marking for wrong answers or unattempted questions. Qualifying marks were 76% (i.e. 19 and above out of 25).
In all, 140 participants from different courses of Computer Application participated in the First Round. Participants were to participate individually and had to submit their answers within 30 minutes.
Among 140 participants, 39 qualified for the Final Round. The result was outstanding. The qualifying students were from BCA, B. Sc. (IT) and MCA. The Final Round for the “TECH-TONIC” Quiz Competition was conducted on 10th February, 2021 through online medium (Google Doc).
After competing in both rounds, namely, Basic Programming Round (Qualification Round) and Advance Programming, the winners of the event were:

Dr. Sonal Sharma, HOD- Computer Application, Mr. Ishteyaaq Ahmad, (Faculty Head of CODEX Club) along with Dr. Sunil Shukla, Mrs. Vijay Laxmi and Mr. Deepak Tayagi were the key persons responsible for the grand success of the event. The student Coordinators for the event were Shivani Mishra [B.Sc. (IT)-V], Arpit Chauhan [BCA -III], Abhishek Jethi [BCA -III], Sunny Rai [B.Sc.(IT) – III] and Ankit Singh [BCA -III].
The event turned out to be a huge success with the active support of Mr. Anand Rawat (Lab In-charge, UIM) and Mr. Anoop (Lab Assistant, UIM).
