As per UGC Norms for Induction Program, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology organized a Village Visit for B. Tech. First Year students on 21st August, 2019. The main aim of this visit was to create awareness among the students regarding rural environment, villager’s living and their daily routines.
Mr. Himanshu Goel (Coordinator – B.Tech. First Year) along with Mr. Chandrakant Joshi (Assistant Professor, ECE Department) accompanied the students on this village tour. Students reached the village at about 11 am where they were distributed in 8 groups. Students interacted with villagers and came to know about their life style, their daily routine and their day-to-day problems.
Students came to know about the pros and cons of the village life and also about the better living of villages in cool, healthy, pollution and noise free area as compared to metro cities.
The problems conveyed by the villagers included lack of medical store, proper public transport, supply of drinking water, electric power failure, to name a few. Students assured the villagers to carry forwarded their problems to the local/state competent administrative authorities for solutions. They also assured the villagers to visit the village in future also to get connected and informed. The village visit ended with a visit to a Govt. High School where the students interacted with the school students.
In the afternoon session, an interactive group discussion was conducted in Civil Engineering Building Seminar Hall wherein the students presented their views on varied topics.
