Uttaranchal University witnessed the celebration of Republic Day on 26th January, 2020. The 71st Republic Day of India was celebrated with gaiety and patriotic fervor in all its solemnity and dignity in Uttaranchal University. Hon’ble Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Chairperson, Members of the Managing Committee, Office Bearers, Deans/Directors/Principals, Faculty Members, Staff and Students, filled with a feeling of patriotism and dedication, gathered at the venue to celebrate the day marking India’s transition toward becoming an independent republic.
Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi and Chairperson Smt. Anuradha Joshi, along with the dignitaries, expressed gratitude to the National Heroes for their supreme sacrifice and offered flowers on the pedestal of the reverend “Wall of Heroes”. He presided over the function after inspecting the ‘Guard of Honor’ presented by the Security Staff of the University. The ceremony proceeded with the unfurling of the highest National Flag of India in Dehradun (in the campus of Uttaranchal University) accompanied by the rendition of National Anthem by one and all present. The whole ambience reverberated with the chanting of Vande Mataram which echoed the ecstasy of liberty and democracy.
The shared emotion of reverence towards motherland was aptly reflected through the beautiful presentation on ‘National Integration’ delivered by the students of Uttaranchal University.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi addressed the august gathering & awakened everyone’s feeling of pride towards motherland and elaborated the sanctity of the occasion. He highlighted the importance of the Constitution and its unique features such as Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution. Dr. Joshi presented a report of the achievements of Uttaranchal University and expressed his gratitude towards one and all for their contribution.
Estate Officer Mr. Nakoti infused a sense of responsibility through his thought-provoking words and implored everyone to practice true patriotism not only in words but also in deeds.
Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna, Principal, Law College Dehradun stated that our National Flag is our pride. He disclosed the fervor and minute details associated with the writing of and publication of our Constitution. He advised to duly acknowledge the gift of freedom by standing in unison against all the ills, thus leading the country to prosperity.
Hon’ble Chancellor of Uttaranchal University, Shri. Jitender Joshi, expressed his gratitude to the reverend freedom fighters whose altruistic endeavors won us independence. He extended his warm wishes to one and all on the occasion of 71th Republic Day of India.
The University resonated with the patriotism and enthusiasm reflected in the beautiful performances of the students of Uttaranchal University.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Nakoti, Estate Officer and distribution of sweets to one and all.
It was an occasion when everyone showed their love and respect for the nation. All the heads were held high by the shared experience of liberty, harmony, democracy and unity in diversity.
On this special occasion, let us remember the golden heritage of our country and feel proud to be a part of India.
