Department of Food Technology, School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS) organized an online workshop on “Nutrition, Health and Fitness” in observance of ‘Nutrition Week’ on 25th September, 2020.
The session initiated with the Welcome Speech delivered by Dr. Shilpa Sharma, Coordinator of Department of Food Technology, wherein she welcomed Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal of School of Applied and Life Sciences and Dean-Research, Dr. V. K. Srivastava, Dr. Bharti Ramola, Dr. Poonam Negi, Dr. B. S. Rawat, Dr. Nishesh Sharma and other faculty members of Uttaranchal University.
The session began with the blessings and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal of School of Applied and Life Sciences and Dean-Research who was also the Chairman of the event. He welcomed all the guest speakers and motivated and encouraged all the participants. He also congratulated the team of Food Technology Department for conduction of the online nutrition week celebrations.
The session was further managed by Final Year Students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology, namely, Shashank and Ritesh. They proceeded to welcome all the participants and sequenced them to showcase their talent and share their thoughts in the event. This event saw student participation who presented their knowledge regarding the importance about nutrition, facts and myths related to nutrition and dietary patterns. They also participated in poster presentation and nutritious food preparation. More than 70 students participated in the event.
The whole event was organized and coordinated by Dr. Shilpa Sharma along with the organizing members Mr. Prateek Gururani, Ms. Nitika Rathi, Mr. Rajeev Kumar and Ms. Bhawna Bisht.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Shilpa Sharma.
